There is no precise moment when you should start looking for work. If a company needs a new resource, it simply needs one. It is true, however, that there are usually periods when more job positions open, and these often coincide with September-October and January-February.

September and October, in particular, are excellent months to look for a new job. With the return from holidays, companies become much more responsive. There may have been resignations during the summer months, and so they find themselves with only a few months to replace outgoing profiles.

June, July and August may instead be less suitable months, as the summer break is approaching and many companies begin planning their recruiting phase for September. This does not mean that, in the meantime, you cannot apply for open positions.

4. How to write a CV for your first job

It only takes a few moments to catch a recruiter’s attention. For this reason, your CV must have characteristics that allow it to stand out at first glance.

Think about your reaction when, at school, you were given pages and pages full of words to read, without a break or an image. Extracting the information was tiring and boring. If you wrote your first CV like that, then it is time to change it.

Remember: appearances matter. Having a well-summarized text in front of you, with the main points highlighted and easy to read, will give you an extra advantage.

Here are 5 tips for writing a CV even if you have no experience:

Clearly highlight your professional or educational title and clearly include the dates and locations of your school experiences.

Show your strengths: now is the time for soft skills. Indicate the courses, leadership activities and responsibilities you have carried out. Include any volunteering experiences, showing your ethics and your skills.

Value all your work experiences, even if they were short or part-time, such as babysitter, waiter/waitress, and so on.

List your social media skills, as many employers may often need someone to support them, and not everyone has the right requirements to do so.

Make yourself easy to find. Make sure you have a professional LinkedIn profile and let people around you, friends and relatives, know that you are looking for work.

Add a positive and open attitude, and you will have two factors that will help you draw attention to yourself and make a good impression even before you have spoken.
