World Environment Day 2025: Gruppo Toscano commitment to sustainability

Every year on June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated, established in 1972 by the United Nations to raise awareness among governments, businesses, and citizens about the importance of environmental protection.

The 2025 edition, celebrated in South Korea, focuses on a theme that is more urgent than ever: the fight against plastic pollution, one of the most serious threats to marine and terrestrial ecosystems and human health.

Reducing plastic use is one of the most effective actions we can take to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): protecting biodiversity, protecting the oceans, responsible consumption, and combating the climate crisis.

But this day should not be merely symbolic. It is a call to concrete action. Because environmental challenges affect us all. And we can all make a difference, in our own small way.

What can we do? Everyday actions and conscious choices

Reducing our environmental impact is possible, starting with our daily habits and conscious choices. Here are some concrete actions to reduce plastic use:

• Avoid single-use plastics and favor reusable or compostable materials
• Sort your waste correctly
• Buy products in bulk or with reduced packaging
• Use alternatives to plastic (reusable shopping bags, water bottles, etc.)
• Participate in environmental volunteer activities and eco-friendly days

Every single gesture, if shared by many, has a big impact. This is the principle of the circular economy: redesigning the use of plastic to reduce waste, encourage reuse, and facilitate recycling.

Toscano for the environment: responsibility and concrete actions

As a group present throughout Italy, we have a responsibility to contribute to the protection of the environment, the territory, and people.

Our visibility gives us the opportunity - and the duty - to be an active part of change, involving those who work with us and those who choose us every day, spreading sustainable values and setting a good example with concrete actions.

Doing business means creating a positive impact and generating value in economic, social, and environmental terms, with the aim of constantly improving our territory, which is, after all, everyone's home: our planet.

Aware of all this, we have decided to take action together with Legambiente.

On Thursday, June 19, we will meet at Passoscuro for a concrete initiative: a beach clean-up day with the participation of colleagues from the Toscano agencies in Lazio. A simple yet powerful gesture: working together to take care of our land. A commitment that we will continue with various events throughout the year.

But it doesn't end there. To give continuity and consistency to our actions, we have chosen to support Legambiente with a donation that will fund their environmental education projects in schools throughout Italy.

Thanks to this contribution, Legambiente constantly organizes meetings, workshops, and ecological days with young people, spreading ecological culture and civic awareness, and involving the younger generation in cleaning and awareness-raising activities.

Being part of this project makes us proud: it is a concrete gesture with a real impact. It is an opportunity to act, educate, and build a more sustainable future together.
