Interview with Paolo Famà, Real Estate Broker and owner of the Toscano Portogruaro agency

First of all, congratulations on this new opening: can you tell us how you got here?

“This is my first real estate agency. In fact, I come from a completely different professional background. I opened the agency without having any previous experience within Toscano.

I have always had a strong interest in the real estate sector, which led me to obtain my professional license more than 15 years ago. The curiosity for the world of real estate was probably already inside me, even though my work has always been in the professional catering industry, thanks to my family business. From the moment I obtained my license, I have always had the opportunity to collaborate, although not continuously, with various real estate agencies.

A few years ago, however, I began to feel the desire to diversify my work, and I thought that opening a real estate agency could be exactly what I was looking for. So I looked for a real estate brand with which I could open a franchise and have a solid point of reference.

How are you setting up your operational method?

“I think I am doing exactly what the Toscano method proposes. If the method has worked and continues to work for all the colleagues in the network, then it is right to follow it.

To get a concrete understanding of the operational method and better understand how to set up the business, before opening I collaborated with a Toscano agency near me, as well as completing the required training at another agency in Rome. This is an activity based on consistency, with a routine that must be repeated every day, because it is only through repetition that you learn. Once you understand how it works, you can then focus on how to improve.”

The opportunity to train in other agencies is one of the advantages of being part of a national network: do you feel supported by the network?

“Yes, absolutely. In addition, I find the entire exclusive digital ecosystem of the Group particularly useful. Especially the company’s proprietary management system, because it is developed and tailored specifically to the Toscano operational method—this really makes all the difference.”

How did you come into contact with Toscano? What made you choose to affiliate with the Group?

“Mainly two things. The first is brand perception: Toscano immediately gave me the idea of a strong brand that communicates effectively and stands out, starting from the logo and the style of the agencies, which are elegant and impactful.

The second is having a proprietary and exclusive management system, which includes all the functions and tools needed for real estate activity. It immediately struck me as a tool that is above average.”

What are your goals for your first year of activity?

“I’ll be concrete and direct: the first goal is to recover the investment made, growing step by step, setting up the business properly so that it is sustainable and economically sound. The next step will be to focus on expanding the team, involving new people and therefore growing the company.”
