Two entrepreneurs with different backgrounds, united by the desire to grow with the Toscano Group: Edoardo Caliandro and Daniela Angelini recount their journey to the new opening of the Ostuni agency, amid challenges, vision, and goals.
First of all, congratulations: how did you start this new adventure together?
Daniela Angelini: "Our stories are very different. I started working as a real estate agent as an adult, opening my own agency with the Toscano Group in Brindisi. It was Edoardo who suggested we go into business together. We then had the opportunity to get to know each other and test our way of working before opening in Ostuni."
_ Edoardo Caliandro_: "My professional career has always been with Toscano. I met Daniela a year after she first opened her agency, and over coffee, I explained to her what I would like to do in the area. Since then, we have always gotten along well and have never been out of sync. We ran the Brindisi affiliate and then decided to open the one in Ostuni together."
Why Ostuni?
“Because it's a different, more international market, a very interesting area for foreigners. We chose to invest in a territory that can be very rewarding.”
You have two very different backgrounds. What have you taken away from your experiences?
Edoardo Caliandro: "I started at Toscano in 2017 and then became a real estate agent. Right from the start, the agency's Sales Manager trained me with the aim of opening my own franchise sooner or later. I grew up at Toscano, learning the ropes within the company and then using my professional and personal experience as a foundation to open my own affiliate."
Daniela Angelini: "Not coming from the real estate sector, my first and only experience was with the Toscano Group. I was not a real estate agent, and at 50, I decided to change jobs and throw myself into something completely different. So I chose to open my own agency, gaining some brief experience in the meantime to learn the job better. I contacted the Toscano Group after selecting all the brands already present in the area: Toscano was the one that inspired me the most, and I identified strongly with the company's style. I was immediately welcomed as an entrepreneur ready to invest in the sector. Despite my inexperience, I felt part of a group: the sense of belonging and support are important, especially for me."
What are the advantages of being a Toscano agency for you?
Daniela Angelini: “I get a lot of assignments thanks to the brand: clients specifically ask me to be represented by a reputable company. Especially for me, coming from outside the sector, it's a great calling card. Then there are the tools and services I have at my disposal, which are always up to date: from management software to local marketing and acquisition tools.”
Edoardo Caliandro: "The biggest advantage for me is the network, the fact that we are present with many agencies and many companies, all connected. As Toscano agents, we can take on assignments in our areas from clients who live in different cities or regions. I have often had assignments from the north and center of Italy for properties sold in Puglia. Then, of course, the fact that it is a technologically advanced company that constantly invests in TV campaigns also brings prestige to us real estate agents and makes it easier for us when presenting to new clients."
Two entrepreneurs like yourselves are ambitious by definition. What are your goals and expectations for the new branch in Ostuni?
Edoardo Caliandro: “For this year, to generate a turnover that will enable us to continue the business and find employees to start working with us in the agency. A longer-term goal, after a few years of settling in, is to open another agency.”
Daniela Angelini: “For me, obviously, it's the growth of Ostuni. It's a great challenge because it's a very competitive market. But the greater the challenge, the greater the reward.”
Speaking of teams: how do you want to build your team?
“Perhaps of all the aspects of our work, this is one of the most difficult. But we hope that our experience and knowledge, combined with the recognition of the Toscano brand, will attract people who are willing to start a career as a real estate agent, especially young people: it's a job that can be very rewarding even in a short time if you work hard and consistently.”
